Hello, am heading to Thailand on my own in August and was wanting to get some tips if poss. Am looking for some accommodation in Bangkok to begin with. Have had many ppl suggest Khao san Rd. Since Im going to be on my own im pretty keen to meet people. Am on a bit of a budget but nothing to excessive so the idea of staying there is more so for the meeting people concept as opposed to affordable prices. If anyone can shed some light this would be great!!!

Stay away from the Sawasdee house (Khaosan Holiday) 132 Khaosan Rd Bangkok Ph 66(0)26295494. On the surface they appear to be nice and friendly but underneath they are just the opposite. I stayed there recently and I urge any of you who are traveling to Khaosan Road to stay away from Sawasdee house (Khaosan Holiday) 132 Khaosan Rd Bangkok Ph 66(0)26295494 houses, especially if you want to be treated like a human being. Any slight altercation with the staff and they then have you branded a bad person and kick you out so that they do not have to give you your deposit back. It's a scam that cost me and my father dearly. He lost his deposit and I ended up with two stitches in the face from a king hit I took from one of the local thugs that the HOTEL staff had called to have us cleared out of the lobby. Surely this is no way to conduct business and surely this is no way to treat a guest. Feel free to contact me if you would like to know the story in more detail. but trust me when I say there are much better places to stay then the Sawasdee house (Khaosan Holiday) 132 Khaosan Rd Bangkok. It maybe in the middle of Khaosan Road but it is a far way away from the true feelings of Khaosan Road.

hi, i have some idia. if you want cheap room, it's arould 200 bath per day. but share barth room. the name of the guest house is Wild Ochild Villa , and other guest house is River Viwe. It's cheap and good qulity.
